- When the Blue Jays won the world series, about 500 000 fans crowded the
- downtown area. They were packed back to back and so was the traffic.
- The police frequencies were full of transmissions:
- Dispatcher: 'There's a report of a suspect breaking and entering into
- the Burger King on (some) street.'
- Cop: 'We'll check it out'
- After a few minutes;
- Cop: 'Dispatcher, we have the suspect in custody. He wasn't able
- to break in.'
- Dispatcher: 'Roger.Uhh, a wagon is needed at the Burger King on
- (some) street. One to go.'
-
- It was actually a peaceful night, no stores got broken into. Although
- there were alot of people climbing onto the stores. The whole party
- lasted until after 4:00 am in the morning (at which point I got tired
- and went to bed). The people had no way of getting home because the
- transit system shuts down at 2:00 am, and the taxis couldn't go anywhere
- because of the traffic of people blocking the streets. There were
- some other interesting stuff such as some guy hitting people's legs
- with barb wire, and another man 'kung-fuing' (as one police woman
- put it) other people, and a cop getting his night-stick stolen from
- his belt, etc.Anyway, ti was some pretty interesting listenning.
- Check six.
