  17. I have heard that in the late 1960s the police in Oakland, California 
  18. (a largely black city near Berkeley with a largely white police force) 
  19. used the acronym TNA to refer to acts of domestic violence, disorderly conduct,
  20. etc.  Apparently, they were pressured to drop the use of the acronym when it 
  21. became widely known that it stood for "Typical Nigger Activity".   This 
  22. is only second hand; can any one confirm or deny?
