- Well, I finally took the plunge and got me a Fairmate HP2000. It's
- virtually the same as the AOR AR2000 - I wonder if I'll regret not
- going for the AR1500, which offers SSB? How's 'normal' shortwave
- reception with these critturs?
-
- Main problem so far is the appalling manual. I can't get the
- instructions to work for transferring a frequency found during a
- search directly into a memory bank. Can anyone out there help?
- Please don't say 'RTFM'! I have.
-
- Instructions given are:
-
- (Whilst searching, having locked on to an interesting signal)
-
- A. Press HOLD
- B. Press ENTER
- C. Key in a bank number (your choice)
- D. Key in a channel number (your choice)
-
- -- at this point it will only accept one digit (the machine has
- channels 00 thru 99 in each of memory banks 0 thru 9) and then
- displays a bank number of 0. Next key press restarts the search.
- So this is as far as I get, though the next step is --
-
- E. Press ENTER
-
- Can anyone help? I guess it's boring for most of the old hands here,
- so email would be fine. Thanks in advance. It's a drag having to key
- in each frequency individually.
