  11. Well, I finally took the plunge and got me a Fairmate HP2000.  It's
  12. virtually the same as the AOR AR2000 - I wonder if I'll regret not
  13. going for the AR1500, which offers SSB?  How's 'normal' shortwave
  14. reception with these critturs?

  16. Main problem so far is the appalling manual.  I can't get the
  17. instructions to work for transferring a frequency found during a
  18. search directly into a memory bank.  Can anyone out there help?
  19. Please don't say 'RTFM'!  I have.

  21. Instructions given are:

  23. (Whilst searching, having locked on to an interesting signal)

  25. A.  Press HOLD
  26. B.  Press ENTER
  27. C.  Key in a bank number (your choice)
  28. D.  Key in a channel number (your choice)
  29.  
  30. -- at this point it will only accept one digit (the machine has
  31.    channels 00 thru 99 in each of memory banks 0 thru 9) and then
  32.    displays a bank number of 0.  Next key press restarts the search.
  33.    So this is as far as I get, though the next step is --

  37. Can anyone help?  I guess it's boring for most of the old hands here,
  38. so email would be fine.  Thanks in advance.  It's a drag having to key
  39. in each frequency individually.
