- I have some questions about the Pro-2006 from Radio Shack. Over the
- weekend I asked more than one Radio Shack salesman about modifactions
- and they all gave me the same response; the "NEW" 2006s can't be modified
- to receive cellular frequencies. I didn't believe them one bit. Figured
- it's just a plan by the Tandy bigshots to make their scanners look innocent
- in the recent FCC hype over cellular action. So to see for myself, I
- bought one. First thing I did was open it up and check for the two glass
- diodes behind the number 3 on the keypad. THEY'RE THERE! Does this mean
- the scanner is definitely modifible? Has anyone purchased a 2006 in the
- last month and successfully restored cellular on it? The scanner is
- awesome compared to the BC200xlt I was using. But if it can't be modified,
- I may not keep it. If you think a private response is more appropriate in
- this situation, E-Mail me at: ceravolo@icarus.montclair.edu. In fact,
- I'd prefer private responses.
-
- Thanks,
- Jim C.
