- Redlin glimpes all of this out of the corner of his eye as he continued
- his rush to attack the Fire. He never made himself an easy target, leaping
- over, under, and to either side of the fire blasts of his enemy. He was
- nearly in range to attack when he noticed that the bright flash was aiming
- right for him. In a move as much instinct as calculation, he dived into a
- roll, his sword extended to his left. The effect was pleasantly
- satisfying.
- Just as the lightning bolt hit Fire, Redlin's black sword passed through
- the creature's nearly insubstantial body, lingering inside its leg as
- Redlin finished his roll. The black fire tracing its way up and down the
- length of the blade warred with the bright fire of the monster, finally
- overwhelming it and growing stronger and darker.
- Redlin came to his feet in time to see the elemental, no longer having
- the power to hold its size, shrink a little, its fires dimming and its
- flame weakening. He was also just in time to find himself bodily lifted
- into the air by the whirlwind that was Air and caught inside the beast's
- cruel cyclone.
