  455. 1. PURPOSE:
  456.     This directory is designed to be a Who's Who of Generica (and APD-I).
  457.     It is not a detailed list of who is where and talking to whom. Events 
  458.     occur far too rapidly to keep up with individual comings and goings. 
  459.     Neither is it a roster of complete descriptions of all who visit the Inn 
  460.     (see "note" in next paragraph). It is, simply, a cast of characters
  461.     involved in the various plots and subplots here in Generica
  462.

  464. 2. CHARACTER LISTINGS:
  465.     Characters are listed first by type, then alphabetically. Some 
  466.     characters who are part of a group may be listed together. Also, 
  467.     "pets" are listed with their "owners". Each one line listing contains 
  468.     information either e-mailed to me or "over-heard" in the Inn: name, 
  469.     occupation or title, and/or unique features.
  470.  
  471.     NOTE: Someone-else is doing a great job of maintaining a list of
  472.     much more complete charater descriptions. If you would like your
  473.     character added to that list, please send your one-paragraph-type
  474.     description to:

  478. 3. THE DIRECTORY SUB-GROUPS
  479.     Most sub-groups are self-explanatory. A few additional notes are
  480.     listed below:
  481.  
  482.     KNOWN VILLIANS (APPENDIX I) are mostly NPCs. They are the recurring 
  483.     "bad guys" who make life interesting and help provide us with tales 
  484.     to tell. Some of them may be involved in specific plots, and you 
  485.     should check with their originator" before using them in posts (Great 
  486.     Mother for example).
  487.  
  488.     RECENT INACTIVES (APPENDIX II) are any PCs and NPCs who are 
  489.     permanently (or at least semi-permanently) no longer with us for one 
  490.     reason or another. The number of weeks a character has been on the 
  491.     list is indicated by asterisks (*) after their listing. These 
  492.     characters will be deleted from the list after four weeks.

  495. 4. FREQUENCY/CORRECTIONS/NEW SUBMISSIONS:
  496.     I am attempting to post a new version of the "Directory" once per week 
  497.     (usually on Mondays). If I've somehow mangled your character's name or 
  498.     occupation, blame it on an old man's shaky pen and kindly send me mail
  499.     with the correct form. If I have left out your character, it may be 
  500.     because you haven't given me you name or perhaps I spilled something 
  501.     on my notes. Either way, just send me a note and I'll be sure to 
  502.     include you in the next "edition".
