- Finally, the jailer was off duty, his wife had no work for him, and he could
- go to a pub. He was a bit bored, and he thought the Dragons Inn, with lots of
- adventurers in it, would be more appropriate than Nesters Inn. Perhaps he'd
- meet the conjurer there who had played that trick on him...
-
- [ADMIN for those who didn't read the story then:
- Lifilis Kloote, conjurer and artist, was robbed in the streets, so
- he made a picture of the robber, went to the jail, and conjured him
- there, using the picture. Kloote got his money back, the mugger was
- incarcerated, but when the jailer gave him the picture Kloote had
- made, the mugger tore it up and disappeared.]

-
- Lifilis Kloote left the Tower of Leviathan and crossed the Ceruputhon River.
- He had a friend in a high position now; the Wyeriun seemed to be a very
- important person in Generica. Kloote's conjuring ability had opened a door
- for him here too, and soon he would be on top again. And this time he would
- stay there. The alcohol would not again make him do things he'd regret
- afterwards. He had control over himself now. One glass per meal, not more.
-
- He decided to take a look at the city. If he'd settle in Generica, he'd
- have to find a place to live. Of the streets leading in four directions from
- the Plaza of Glittering Steel, he knew three, so he'd walk along the fourth,
- the Southern one. So when he reached the Plaza, he turned right into the
- Arcade of Unforgotten Heroes. But soon he found that he didn't like this part
- of the city. The houses south of the shops on the right side clearly showed
- the poverty of their inhabitants. On the left side: temples.
- Bah! Who needed temples? He stopped and turned around. He'd look North of
- Dragons Lane, perhaps in the vicinity of Glorshanned Keep.
-
- But when he reached the Plaza again, a hand was placed on his shoulder from
- behind. He angrily turned around and found himself in the company of a bulky
- half-ogre in scale mail and a female gnome, both with a grim air.
- "So there yar, Kloote! We search whole city fah you," the half-ogre's voice
- boomed over the plaza.
- Kloote's anger turned into embarrassment, then into quick action.
- "Not here. Follow me!"
-
- As he guided them in the direction of Dragons Inn, he cursed quietly. He
- definitely did not need those two.
