- I tried to start up the 3-word game a few weeks back;
- here's my second attempt. The more people who participate,
- the more fun it is!
-
- ---
-
- People who have been reading the alt.prose.* groups
- for a while will remember the three word story game
- started by Sho Kuwamoto. I think it would be fun to
- start this game up again. Below are the rules of the
- game, along with the words for this week.
-
- Note: subsequent announcements of new words will only
- appear in alt.prose.d. I will try to do these
- on a weekly basis.
-
- ---
-
- The words are: health, pout, harness
-
- ---
-
- Rules:
-
- * Write a short story of any style or genre using the
- three words listed above.
-
- * You may use any reasonable variant of the words given.
- You may conjugate verbs, pluralize nouns, etc. You may
- change "escape" to "escaping," but not to "inescapable."
-
- * You may not post your story until 12:00am tomorrow
- Pacific time, which is 3:00am Eastern, and 0800 UTC
- (Grenwich mean time). This is to give people a chance
- to come up with their own story idea before reading
- efforts by other people. If you don't get around to
- writing your story by then, feel free to post anyway!
- All it means is that you will have to avoid the stories
- in alt.prose yourself.
-
- * Please keep the subject line intact. I've set followups
- to alt.prose, so all you have to do is Followup this
- article. Reasons:
-
- + People who don't care can kill the articles easily.
-
- + People who want to post stories will be able to
- avoid reading other people's stories until they have
- written their own versions.
-
- If you want to title your story, title it in the body of
- your article, like this:
-
- Subject: Re: Three Word Story Game (11/18/92)
- ...
- Intestine Sandwich a la Mode
- by Audrey Hepburn
-
- It was a dark and stormy night...
-
-
- * Have fun!
