  13. A persomal note which you may find of interest....

  15. Many of you in the Urban Planning community will know Professor 
  16. Lachlan F. Blair of the University of Illinois, and formerly of
  17. the pioneering firm Blair Associates of Providence, Rhode Island.
  18. Blair now heads The Urbana Group, a consulting and planning enterprise
  19. in (oddly enough) Urbana, Illinois.
  20.  
  21. Chances are if you participated in the planning program at the U of I
  22. between 1965-1988 you had the honor of sitting in Lock Blair's UP171
  23. lecture and were treated to an enormous collection of slides and puns,
  24. most of which (in particular the puns) have become permanant additions
  25. to the University.
  26.  
  27. Lock and Mary blair will celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary on
  28. December 12, 1992.  As their son (and only unplanned event) I know that
  29. besides each other nothing has given them greater pleasure over the
  30. years than to share in the success and adventure of their many students
  31. and colleagues.  If you are one of these would you please take a moment
  32. to write a short note to the Blairs and let them know how things are
  33. going in your town these days?  Any reminisces or congratulations you
  34. care to add would of course be appropriate.

  36. We would like to collect letters over the next couple of weeks for
  37. presentation at a small family dinner on December 5.  You may send a letter
  38. to me electronically at the address below or by replying to this
  39. article.  I will format and print your electronic reply beautifully 
  40. in a foolish attempt to justify the new laser printer :-).  You may also
  41. send paper mail to the address below, or directly to the Blair house
  42. at 506 West Illinois St, Urbana IL 61801.
