  36. Actually, many of those invading cultures, and the invasions themselves, (as
  37. it just struck me this weekend) came about the time of the discovery of iron,
  38. and the advent of iron weapons. Can anyone else remind me of pre-iron age
  39. invasions that did *not* involved the movement of whole peoples, and just
  40. of armies for conquest? For that matter, of any large-scale violent movement
  41. of peoples, as opposed to slow incursion?
