- Actually, many of those invading cultures, and the invasions themselves, (as
- it just struck me this weekend) came about the time of the discovery of iron,
- and the advent of iron weapons. Can anyone else remind me of pre-iron age
- invasions that did *not* involved the movement of whole peoples, and just
- of armies for conquest? For that matter, of any large-scale violent movement
- of peoples, as opposed to slow incursion?
