  28. Okay, I heard that Rockline interview, and that is exactly what Geddy said.
  29. Movie soundtracks are NOT a backup plan for most good musicians.  Some 
  30. people do them just because they need a diversion from their other musical
  31. interests.  Eric Clapton recently did the soundtrack for the movie "Rush",
  32. and Dire Straits' lead guitarist and songwriter, Mark Knopfler has done
  33. three scores that I know of.  The point is that it's not a backup plan, just
  34. a relief from their other stuff.  Rush doesn't need a break, because their 
  35. style is extremely varied already.  They write the songs that people should 
  36. make the movies for instead of writing the songs to fit the movie.  Basically,
  37. Rush just hasn't felt the need yet.  Just my $0.02 worth.
