- Okay, I heard that Rockline interview, and that is exactly what Geddy said.
- Movie soundtracks are NOT a backup plan for most good musicians. Some
- people do them just because they need a diversion from their other musical
- interests. Eric Clapton recently did the soundtrack for the movie "Rush",
- and Dire Straits' lead guitarist and songwriter, Mark Knopfler has done
- three scores that I know of. The point is that it's not a backup plan, just
- a relief from their other stuff. Rush doesn't need a break, because their
- style is extremely varied already. They write the songs that people should
- make the movies for instead of writing the songs to fit the movie. Basically,
- Rush just hasn't felt the need yet. Just my $0.02 worth.
