  13.  the 'Smile' album was a concept album...

  15.    brian's initial idea for it was to have comedy running all the way through
  16. it..this later progressed to having a running theme between songs...like a sort
  17. of connecting piece througout the album...

  19.    sgt pepper is usually given credit for being the first concept album, yet
  20. smile predated pepper by almost a year...

  22.    it was paul mc cartney coming back from visiting brian working on smile who
  23. thought 'what the hell can we do to top that?' and thought up pepper...

  25.    so brian wilson could be said to have invented the concept album.....
