- An interesting snippet I picked up recently may help to shed some light on
- this. A few months before 'Poseidon' was due to be released, a band called
- Love Sculpture (Dave Edmunds, Mike Finesilver, Peter Ker) released a Rock
- version of Mars the Bringer of War. The record was released in the states,
- but the Holst estate blocked the release of the record in Europe. It is
- possible that Fripp heard about this problem and renamed/recredited the piece
- in order to 'sneak it out' without the holst estate noticing. As Peter (above)
- says, the song had been performed live for some time and according to bootlegs
- of the era always went under the title of Mars the Bringer of War.
