  24. Well, if you consider Chicago to be in the South, I guess you could include
  25. Eleventh Dream Day (Chicago is south of Seattle I suppose).

  27. Anyway - Superchunk is one of the best bands I have ever seen play live.
  28. You really must go to one of their shows and pogo to them!  Supposedly
  29. they have started this fashion interest in corduroy (seeing that guitarist/
  30. vocalist Mac wears a lot of it), but that is just some odd story I've
  31. picked up.

  33. They're from Chapel Hill, NC (i've seen them play a couple great
  34. shows there) and Mac and Laura (their bassist) run Merge Records out of
  35. Chapel Hill...and often they release singles on that label. I put
  36. _No Pocky For Kitty_ at about the same par as their previous CD release,
  37. _Superchunk_.  Both are must haves.  The CD compilation of their singles
  38. is also pretty good, but not as good as those two.

  40. They are currently touring, and whenever I see them live they seem to play
  41. an incredible amount of unreleased material -- so not only are they great
  42. on CD and even better live, but they always seem to produce new material
  43. like there's no tomorrow.  THAT is pretty promising.

  45. About this thing that the Triangle area is going to be the next Seattle -
  46. don't count on it, and to be honest - I sincerely hope not.  Polvo,
  47. Metal Flake Mother, Vanilla Trainwreck, etc. are interesting bands for
  48. a few bucks, but that's about all in my humble opinion (save Polvo, who
  49. are quite good in fact).
