- Glad to hear of someone else using IRC as a medium for telecomputing in
- education. I have been doing so for the last two years - I have been remotely
- teaching students using IRC as a means of communication.
-
- Just this year I decided to implement a program called XTV. XTV allows
- users to share windows and other Unix based tools/programs. IRC allows
- the real-time communication I need (interaction) and XTV allows for the
- multi-collaborative graphics (much like a chalkboard) which allows all
- users to see the same material and edit it.
-
- I am now working on real-time voice transmission. Once that happens, I
- will not have a need for IRC.
-
- Cheers!
