- I feel for you man. Unfortunately, there isn't anything you can
- do to "prepare" yourself for anyones death. It's gonna hurt no
- matter what. I think just about everybody here has lost at least
- one friend from AIDS.
-
- The only things I can really offer are as follows:
-
- Don't treat your friend any different than you would have otherwise.
-
- But try to live each day with him like it's gonna be his last, 'cause
- even though you "know" it's gonna be soon, you still don't really
- know when (or if) it will.
-
- Make as many 'good times' as you can, so you have more to look back
- on. You sound like he has been your friend for a long time, so
- that shouldn't be a problem.
-
- Get used to crying.
-
- Don't EVER abandon him. EVER!
-
- Try to keep a positive outlook, and encourage him to do the same.
- Attitude has a lot to do with survival. Don't just let him curl
- up and die.
-
- Can't think of anything else. If you need someone to talk to,
- e-mail me at gateway::"nasiatka@anhep3.anl.gov"
