I've been hearing about identifying years of guitars by their serial
number. Well, I want to try. It is a fairly new Gibson Les Paul and the
number is: 92750358 . It says Studio on the headstock truss rod cover. But this
confuses me. From what I've heard, studio's are supposed to have dot inlays on
the fretboard, only chrome hardware, etc. But mine has the trapezoidal mother
of pearl inlay and gold harware. Along with gold pickup covers. It aslo does nothave the traditional white strip around the border of the body of the guitar.
This makes it appear smaller, though it is the same size as a standard. Please
help me identify this guitar. I think it is supposed to list btween $600-$900
but I'm not sure because I can't identify it. I bought it used for $300 and it
is in mint condition. Not even a scratch. I've had it for almost a year now.
It sounds great and has the smoothest neck I've ever played. I'd like to know more about it. Thanx...
