- I have played the GR-1 a few times at the store I teach at, and I'm pretty
- impressed with it. The tracking is very good, it registers my hammer-ons
- and pull-offs, and has some real good sounds. I did have to watch my picking
- technique a little, but much less than any other synth I've played. The piano
- sounds are real good, as are the bass sounds. There are also some neat synth
- pad type sounds that are great for weird jazz chords. The onboard pickup
- controller allows you to hear guitar only, synth only, or a mix with volume
- control of the synth voice. You can also scroll up or down through the
- settings from the guitar. My favorite was to mix a distorted guitar sound with
- one of the bass sounds for that 'Led Zepplin" feel. It also has a neat patch
- that gives a bass sound on the low strings and a snare drum on the higher
- strings. I believe the retail list on it is $1200.00 for the synth box
- and $200.00 for the pickup. Expensive but fun!
