- I just bought a early - mid 80's Marshall 5210 combo (50w solid state,
- 1 12" driver). I love this amp - BUT - whenever I turn it off it makes a
- *very* loud bang/pop type sound which is both unsettling to my cat and
- is probably damaging the driver.
-
- There is one thing which may be the obvious problem - the ground prong in the
- power cord is missing. I suspect this is it, but I'd rather not spend $
- on a new power cord if that's not it. It seemed ok at the store (although
- like most music stores, the noise level would have made the problem seem
- relatively minor). I've decided not to risk turning it on again until I
- get an idea what's wrong.
-
- Any advice? Feel free to flame if this is obvious; asbestos suit at the ready.
