- The serial no is fairly easy. It was built on the 275th day of 1990,
- in Kalamazoo, and it was the 58th instrument marked that day. The
- 8-digit serial numbers break down like this:

- YDDDYPPP

- The first and fourth digits are YY, the year of manufacture;
- DDD is the day of that year
- The first P is the factory code (0-4 Kalamazoo, 5-9 Nashville)
- and the other two PPs serialize the instrument on that day.

- I don't know about the physical appearance discrepancies. Truss
- rod covers are easy to change.
