- One thing no one has seemed to touch on is how string diameter
- relates to distortion. Personally, I play hard rock, and while I like
- screaming distortion, I only use 9's. Anyway, to make it short:

- When you move from 9's to 10's you are increasing the diameter
- by 10%. Therefore you increase tone/distortion by 10% also!
- Of course there is always a gain knob....
