  31. The first fallacy here is in saying that ANYone is REALly "goth".
  32. The Second is where you say that gothic is not a style or TREND.

  34. IT is.  That is why you do it.  That is why anyone would do it.
  35. There are no individuals, not in the sense of 'anarchistic' jargon
  36. where everyone is doing everything for themself only.  People are 
  37. ruled by other people, no matter how much you attempt to fool yourself.
  38. You will always fix yourself for others approval.  That is the way
  39. social animals work, and we are.
  40. Gothic is a style no matter what definition you give it.  I do
  41. not like to call things TRENDs but that too fits in this case.

  43. Bluntly, I know entirly too many people who run around saying I am
  44. "Goth" and yOu are not!  For whatever reason, they go "I have been a
  45. Goth since I was six" , or "I saw you wear color two days ago!"  I have found
  46. that the people who do this are the ones with no confidence, no real personality
  47. all they have is the trend to give them 'fashion' and 'friends'.  Give it up
  48. last time I had to deal with people trying to tell me how to be real was
  49. High School.
  50.   This is not
  51. the way the world works for me.  I will wear whatever I damn well please.
  52. I will not get offended if someone else imitates the way I dress.  I
  53. will wear clothes that are appealing to other people as well as myself.
