- So you want to fight fire with fire. Good, I like that. Here are some good
- ticks for Guile:
- 1) Follow a slow sonic boom, and throw.
- Use the strong button to throw, the fierce sometimes does a standing
- punch that you do not want. Becareful though, this tick is counterable.
- You should mix it up with crouching forward kicks. If you feel that your
- opponent will not counter, go ahead and throw. If you hear the tapping of
- buttons as you are getting close to him, switch to a forward sweep.
- 2) Follow a slow sonic boom, standing short(s), slam(fierce).
- The standing shorts has several functions:
- a) Prevent your opponent from doing special moves after he blocks the
- sonic boom including the dragon punch, and protects you from
- BlankaUs ball.
- b) Allows you time to find out what the other player is doing.
- So if your opponent is countering, you may want to crouch sweep
- c) Distance yourself approiately so that you can get into your effective
- throwing range while getting out of your opponentUs throwing range.
- GuileUs slam has relatively long throwing range.
- d) Keep your opponent guessing on the number of standing shorts you
- are going to do before the slam.
- As you can see, this is a complex move. It is a very difficult tick to get
- out once you have master your timing and distance.
- 3) Throw a sonic boom, follow it, jump into the air at a distance you think
- you can execute the four fierce combo. Your opponent will block the sonic
- boom and wait to block your combo, but you do not hit fierce while in the
- air, hit fierce as you land. This will slam your blocking opponent. You can
- skip the initial sonic boom if you can get to a combo situation, but the
- sonic boom is there to set up the combo. If your opponent in do not block
- in this sequence, and you can get a hit in, go ahead and preceed with the
- combo. It will stun him.

- For your information, the four fierce combo is executed in this manner.
- 1) Flip forward and pull the joystick back to charge.
- 2) Fierce before you land(slap)
- 3) Fierce after you land (chin punch)
- 4) Push joystick forward and hit fierce for the sonic boom.
- 5) Fierce again (back fist)
