  34. Well, that one didn't work out.  There wasn't enough arguments and emotional
  35. drama.  A few years later, and for some unknown reason, alt.streetfighter2
  36. (now known as alt.sf2) was born.  It opened the doors for streetfighters from
  37. around the world to come together and have great flame war competitions to
  38. see who was best.  Occassionally, offers of fighting challenges are given.
  39. Given that many people were from around many parts of the world, and more
  40. importantly, few had the money to travel to accept the challenges.  So,
  41. in time they have become only ceremonial challenges.  There were a few,
  42. rare instances where the challenger just happened to live by some other
  43. alt.sf2'ers and these challenges were accepted, but these are the exception
  44. and not the rule.

  46.      Also on a side note, there appears to be only one female alt.sf2'er
  47. (Darlene) just like there's only one female in the game.  Just a wierd
  48. observation that came to me and I thought that I'd waste bandwidth to tell
  49. you.
