  21. I think it may be a bit of racism.  I knew a lot of friends (most of them
  22. black) who thought that it was sort of racist and pretty silly that it's even
  23. in there.  I (who am also black) think the same way, but I don't let that get
  24. to me.  Besides, the game was played non-stop anyhow and you'll rarely even
  25. see the demo anymore.  This was SF2 classic.  Now on SF2CE, I thought that 
  26. whole title screen would be taken out.  IMHO, I don't think that scene is 
  27. reflective of the game.  A white guy punching a black guy in the middle of
  28. the street, when the game is not about "street" fighting at all.  It's about
  29. doing special moves, blocking, etc..., in essence a karate-type game involving
  30. strategy.  I don't find it too offending; just seems like that either it 
  31. should have been taken out altogether or have it alternate between who
  32. punches who or something like that.  Personally, if it alternated, I still
  33. wouldn`t like it, because I don't like the title screen anyway; it should be
  34. scrapped and put something more indicative of the game or just plain get rid
  35. of it, and just have the Street Fighter logo appear, then "Don't use Drugs.

  37. the characters.

  39. I think that there's no easy solution to that.  If the black guy would always
  40. punch the white guy, then that's "making blacks out to be bullies or thugs".
  41. If the white guy always win (the way it is now), then that's "the black guy
  42. always loses.  that's racism".  It didn't bother me, but I thought that it 
  43. would have been taken out of the new edition, because I figured that many
  44. people would complain about it.
