  15. Freshmen year, one of my roommates and I ended up competing for the
  16. same position on the football team.  Neither of us dealt with the
  17. situation very well, in fact, the animosity between us got so bad that
  18. we couldn't even handle being around each other.  Consequently, during
  19. the winter and spring quarters, my roommate did not spend a single
  20. night in our room.  Some of the time, he shacked up with his
  21. girlfriend, but three out of every four nights he spent on a couch in
  22. his friends room down the hall.
