- Freshmen year, one of my roommates and I ended up competing for the
- same position on the football team. Neither of us dealt with the
- situation very well, in fact, the animosity between us got so bad that
- we couldn't even handle being around each other. Consequently, during
- the winter and spring quarters, my roommate did not spend a single
- night in our room. Some of the time, he shacked up with his
- girlfriend, but three out of every four nights he spent on a couch in
- his friends room down the hall.
