- The rationale I was given when I was going through the RA training
- at Cornell was that a dormitory implies that the place is only a place to
- sleep at night and not much more. On the other hand, a residence hall
- implies that the place is where the students "live." Of course, in four
- years here, I haven't seen the difference between a dorm and a res. hall.
