- At the university of Chicago people tend to go insane after a given
- number of months or years. Thus, practical jokes can ascend to new
- heights(or descend to new depths, whichever) when one takes into account
- the new artform of 'clinical insanity.'
-
- For example, I knew someone who pulled this rather odd joke on their
- roommate; He was showing the symptoms of advanced insanity and
- basically freaking his roommate out. One day he told his roommate
- that he wanted to be alone, and that he was going to lock himself into
- the closet and sleep a good sleep which he hadn't had in a while.
-
- So anyway, the guy locks himself into this closet, which locks from the inside,
- with a sleeping bag and pillow(BTW, this was a very large dorm apartment). The
- roommate thinks it is just another insane thing but begins to worry about the
- closet running out of air on its sleeping resident. Two days pass. No sign
- of the roommate. The closet door remains locked. The roommate tells everyone
- he thinks the nut's a corpsicle, and is about to call the cops when
- el corpso walks in the front door, says 'hello,' and walks into his room.
- I wish I had seen the look on the guy's face.
-
- The trick: El corpso had taken the door knob apart and 'fixed' it somehow
- so from the outside it would seem locked, but the inside could easily open
- the door..I'm not exactly sure how he did this..then he just went off to
- some other place, like the library, and laid low for a few days. Try
- this out, but beware: unless you have been developing signs of insanity
- your roomie will smell a trick.
