  20. Exactly right! They specialize in "horror stories", i.e. creative
  21. fabrications, dramatically told, and intended to scare their audience.
  22. D'Souza, in his whole book, does nothing but rest on insinuations, and
  23. the most concrete he gets is with a deceptive retelling of the
  24. core-curriculum reform at Stanford 
  25. (\sarcasm on\ "Oh, my god! Students actually chanted 'hey hey, ho ho,
  26. Western Civ has got to go!' -- heresy! infiltration! conspiracy!
  27. \sarcasm off\).  Basically the whole anti-PC hysteria has failed to
  28. come up with a single concrete case of the "PC orthodoxy" blacklisting
  29. or repressing those "good, traditional academics" or the Right.  I
  30. assume "heterodoxy" (what a joke of a name for such a rag!) is pretty
  31. much the same story, though I haven't seen it.
  32.     Here's a challenge for the forum (hell, distribute the
  33. challenge to other columns as well)... I offer $10 cash prize to every
  34. contestent who can document a single concrete case of PC blacklisting
  35. of an academic (ok, I know $10's not all that much, but I'm a poor "PC"
  36. grad student).  Good luck contestants!
