- But let's not forget too, that really he was a basically cardboard
- character that Tolkien drew on for a literary effect... everybody
- seems to say that they hate him-- well, fine, you're supposed to hate
- him (or at the very least not like him). But at least his death gave
- him meaning-- that he was not an inherently EVIL character.
- (O, and I have to heartily agree: PLEASE don't even bring up anything
- at all relating to D&D-- that will only hinder any real discussions
- about Tolkien's work!)
