- are at the beginning, I think the Silmarillion is well worth it.
- I've read it twice. I consider it the crowning achievement, closing
- the circle on the Tolkien mythology. After reading the Silmarillion,
- many references in the Lord of the Rings make a lot more sense. Moreover,
- things like the Elves' leaving Middle Earth for the West (especially
- Galadriel's) become more poignant. I recommend reading it more than once.
