  20. I would ask Mr. Chaney how many "wars" he has served in?  A lot of women
  21. honor war veterans, and they have never served.  There is a difference
  22. between refusing to defend your country and refusing to serve your country
  23. by defending some other country.

  37. Since you are/were a soldier I would think you'd know the difference.  I
  38. would think you'd understand demonstrating against some old man in his
  39. ivory tower determining what "acceptable losses" should be in order to
  40. secure some hill somewhere.

  45. First, the draft is debatably un-Constitutional.  Secondly, the Vietnam
  46. "War" was never officially declared a war.  It was known as a police
  47. action officially.  Thirdly, many people (myself included) would fight to
  48. defend this country.  This country hasn't been threatened in my lifetime
  49. (30+ years), actually since Pearl Harbor.  I wouldn't want to die
  50. defending my *own* country, let alone some other country.

  64. Clinton at least had the conviction to stand up for what he believed in.
  65. I applaud the effort of the men and women who are in our military by
  66. choice.  I also applaud those people (Clinton among them) who, by sticking
  67. to their convictions, were able to get the war stopped.  This country was
  68. founded on revolution, bucking the system, questioning authority.  Maybe
  69. you should reread the Constitution to understand that we have a right and
  70. an obligation to object to our government actions if we find them wrong
  71. and to over-throw it if need be to retain our freedoms.

  76. Mandatory enslavement is not exactly what the USofA stands for.  Why fight
  77. for freedoms that you are so willing to give up?  You really like
