- While I appreciate the encouragment that John and others have given over
- the last few days, I am amused, nonetheless, at the assumption on which it
- is based.
-
- It would appear that my correspondants believe that I am a person of color,
- or with beliefs or other attributes that make me different from them. They
- are encouraging me, therefore, to rise above my circumstances and become
- =====>>>>> *** EXCELLENT !!!!! ***** <<<<<=====. I thank them again for
- that but it reveals, IMHO that only a person of color, or with specific
- beliefs or attributes can feel about the subject the way I have described.
-
- Well, I must admit that I am simply a 47-year-old white male, one who has
- seen only the slightest of discrimination against me (in my earlier years,
- when my hair was bright red) and who has had almost no obstacles placed in
- my way.
-
- That doesn't stop me from understanding that people who are not like me
- have encountered totally different circumstances, oweing largely to the
- fact that they are not like me.
-
- My point is, I have broken loose from the blinders that white-males seem to
- be born with, (to some extent and not, I will freely admit, as much as I
- would like) so why can't thEwIndBag?
