- Read my typing. I've got the whole world at my fingertips, yes, but between
- said world and said fingertips is a length of wet string. I'd known for some
- time that Radio Five were going to do it 'at some time'. Last week I got a
- tape of episode 1 and a letter telling me for the first time when it was
- going out. That night I put messages on a.f.p. and the Pratchett conference
- on CIX. But the flow between CIX and the net can be between a few hours and
- 48 hours, and as far as I can see my message took about that long to turn up
- (in fact, you got the info via CIXen who have _direct_ net access ahead of my
- message, I think).
-
- Please understand this: I communicate with you via another service - mail
- seems quite fast, but conference messages can lag. This is not a
- satisfactory state of affairs, I agree, but it will continue until I've got
- the time and more importantly can find a helpful fellow creature who can
- guide me through the intricacies of setting up something more direct.
-
- One day I'll be dead and THEN you'll all be sorry.
