- Well, since this is my first posting to this great, fabbo, wonderous
- group, I thought I'd start on a topic I could hold my own in (just in
- case I get the usual objections/questions that are usual in these
- groups!!!
-
- Anyway, on the point of the suns orbit about the Disc':
-
- The simplest answer is that the ecliptic plane (plane of orbit around
- the sun (gee, does that mean that Great A'Tuin (sp?) spins drunkenly
- around a tiny star) - but in this case the plane of orbit of the sun
- around the disc) is inclined w.r.t the horizon, similar to the earths.
- If then, the ecliptic plane rotated about its centre (not hard to
- believe since its centre would be in the centre of the disc -and we know
- who lives there) with a period of one year then the disc would
- experience seasonal weather patterns of the usual sort (well, possibly)!
- But this would also explain why the central Ramtops are always covered
- in snow; that is, there always furtherest from the sun, so why not!!???
-
- Of course, you could always believe that the sun doesn't like it when
- the gods decides to make it winter and just jumps to a higher orbit to
- stay warm!!!(tee hee hee!)
-
- Well, its a start, isn't it?
