  13. According to the basic DragonRiders trilogy and DragonsDawn,
  14. Greens *are* naturally fertile ("flirtile"? :-).  --==*> However...
  15. Chewing firestone causes infertility (temporary? permanent?) in green
  16. dragons, but no mention of such infertility is made about firelizards.
  17. The basic trilogy defined in no uncertain terms that the reason that
  18. golds are never allowed firestone is because they would become infertile.
  19. (Lessa never seemed to think this was 'fair'.)

  21. The reasons people sneer at the idea of a green laying eggs are:

  23. 1.) Green *firelizards* are too stupid to effectively protect their
  24.     clutches from tunnelsnakes... that's why they "never" hatch.
  25.     In DragonsDawn, some were salvaged before the tunnelsnakes got
  26.     them, and hatched, but they produced smaller 'dragonettes'.

  28. 2.) A green's offspring would likely be both smaller *and* less
  29.     intelligent, going backwards in their genetic development.
