- Felix Leiter is Bond's CIA contact and appeared in several of the books.
- Let's see...he was in the movies `Dr. No', `Goldfinger', `Thunderball',
- `Diamonds Are Forever', `Live and Let Die', `Never Say Never Again',
- `The Living Daylights', and `Licence to Kill,' although almost always
- played by different actors. David Heddison played him in both `Live and
- Let Die' and `Licence to Kill.' Felix Leiter could usually be relied upon
- to show up whenever the locale was in or near the USA (exceptions:
- `Moonraker' and `A View to a Kill').
-
- One character that has recurred many times in the movies (but never in the
- books, I think) is General Gogol, first of the KGB and then later of
- the Soviet Foreign Service. It is interesting that he is sometimes an
- ally, sometimes an adversary, and sometimes merely a bystander. Starting
- with `The Spy Who Loved Me,' he appeared in every film up until `License to
- Kill.' The same actor, Walter Gotell, appeared in `From Russia with Love',
- but I don't think one can argue well that the character is connected with
- General Gogol.
