-
- if i am rereading a story for a meeting i usually use an old trade edition
- that i can mark up but if i am expected to contribute to the discussion
- i will read the Annotated since it raises many interesting points and
- keeps me from rediscovering the wheel.
-
- i read the occasional SH story as a kid, however i was not interested in it.
- when i was a grad student 15 years ago my wife gave me the Annotated.
- i read it cover to cover.
- so, unlike others who work up to the Annotated slowly, i began with it
- and i felt as if i was catapulted into the fascinating world of Sherlockiana.
- (my wife does not feel that it was wise purchase as i now have gone on
- to acquire at least a 1000 volumes and as much ephemera, monthly meetings ...)
-
- there is little excuse for not picking it up at $20 (even $25 other places).
