  18.   The book _Knight Moves_ features centaurs and a few other "engineered" 
  19. races. The premise was that through automation and space travel, the Earth
  20. had been pretty much depopulated of humanity, leaving a few hundred humans
  21. on Earth. One created the critters in case humanity turned out to be an
  22. evolutionary dead end. The Centaurs had a society based on Ancient Greece,
  23. but I don't remember what the others' societies were like. They were all
  24. fairly low tech societies.
