- The book _Knight Moves_ features centaurs and a few other "engineered"
- races. The premise was that through automation and space travel, the Earth
- had been pretty much depopulated of humanity, leaving a few hundred humans
- on Earth. One created the critters in case humanity turned out to be an
- evolutionary dead end. The Centaurs had a society based on Ancient Greece,
- but I don't remember what the others' societies were like. They were all
- fairly low tech societies.
