- I was also hoping that this stuff would come out as Lather. I have cassette
- versions of Lather from Frank's radio appearance where he said "turn on your
- tape recorders". I always thought the mixes from his tapes sounded better
- than the LP stuff. For anyone who may not have heard these tapes, I think
- all of the material was eventually released on vinyl, but it was spread out
- on 1) Live in New York, 2) Studio Tan, 3) Sleep Dirt, 4) Orchestral
- Favorites, 5) Sheik Yer Bouti (a lot of the dialog on this was from
- Lather). I don't remember if the unedited version of "Titties and Beer" was
- on that set. I think "Punky's Whips" was included.
-
- I remember reading an article around 1976 where Frank was discussing his
- next release, which turned out to be Zoot Allures, and he stated that it was
- going to be a two record set. Well it wasn't. I think he said it was going
- to be called "Martian Love Secrets". I don't know if he was kidding or
- not. I wish I still had the article because it had a list of songs, and
- I think some of them ended up on Studio Tan.
-
- Since this info is all from memory, I may be off a bit. I'm sure someone
- will let me know if I am. :-)
