  24. Why Simon, you sound almost "liberal" here... :-) This is exactly
  25. the kind of thing which is proposed by Al Gore. We are the Saudi Arabia
  26. of natural gas. It is high-time we took advantage of this, both as our
  27. major fuel source and as a potential export commodity.

  29. Natural gas is far less polluting, cheaper to get out of the ground (not
  30. to mention the huge amount of methane our agro community produces
  31. (no animal fart jokes please)), and new technologies have made its
  32. storage much safer.

  34. Second, given the relative stability of our society and the ease in which
  35. most gasoline driven engines can be converted to natural gas, I propose
  36. a campaign to convince other countries to convert to natural gas. This
  37. would provide them with a stable, cheap, and clean source of
  38. energy which is
  39. much safer to transport from an environmental stance, cut the
  40. middle east off from money they are using for war and human rights
  41. violation, and provide us with a huge export advantage while eliminating
  42. our major import headache.

  44. It is the right thing environmentally and economically. This would provide
  45. us with the kind of increased revenue to solve our debt problems and
  46. many of our chronic social problems.
