  12. Here is something I thought would be of interest that I discovered last
  13. Friday.  There are several music distibutors that sell cassettes, records
  14. and CDs produced by college wind ensembles.  I got a catalog from one
  15. place and it includes many pieces that have been played by drum corps.

  41. If you've ever been in a wind ensemble and been interested in getting 
  42. recordings of works for band, here is a good place to look.

  44. I have one recording already - the Cincinnati Conservatory doing
  45. Gavorkna Fanfare.  The performance quality and recording quality (it's a
  46. CD) are very good.  BUT, I can't vouch for the quality of other recordings.
  47. I'm sure I'll be ordering a few CDs from them soon - esp. the
  48. Heroes Lost and Fallen and Morning Alleluias.  I'll post my impressions
  49. of these recordings when they come in.

  58. They sell sheet music from many of the contempory composers, including
  59. David Holsinger.  For promotional purposes, they sell cassettes that 
  60. have the music that they sell (at cost).  I just got from them four
  61. cassettes of band music including a To Tame the Perilous Skies.  TTTPS
  62. is performed by the Bowling Green Wind Ensemble and, while it has a few
  63. perfomance flaws, it is a very nice performance.  They also have a catalog
  64. which lists the music they sell and the cassettes they distribute.  I'm
  65. sure people could get TTTPS from them at little or no cost.
