  21. Yeah, you really can't compare the '84 show to anything else in drum
  22. corps.  Wow.  Wow.

  24.    I don't really like 'repeat' or 'best of' shows in general, I guess. 
  25.    Maybe my attention span is too short, but if I've heard it before, 
  26.    basically the same, then I'm not interested. Short signature things are 
  27.    OK, but if it's an actual part of the *show* instead of just a coda, 
  28.    forget it. Lots of people may get excited at the thought of the Scouts 
  29.    rehashing 'Slaughter' or whatever but not me. I can listen to records.

  31.    I also tend to think that it's not fair to the kids in the corps. Sure,
  32.    music is music, but there will inevitably be comparisons to the last
  33.    time the corps played the music, and who needs that?

  35.    And, when you have the immense power to expose people to new (or old 
  36.    but as yet unperformed by D&BC) music, why would you *want* to repeat 
  37.    yourself?

  39. Oh boy, Aaron.  This is so well stated; I couldn't ever put it better
  40. myself.  Too many examples come to mind (I turned off to the Blue
  41. Devils for a while because of this, and the Vanguard disappointed me
  42. when they'd carry over parts of shows to the next year; I felt that
  43. was a terrible crime to commit against the kids, but maybe somebody
  44. else has a different perspective on it that could change my mind).

  46.    On the other hand, I can watch 'Dragnet' reruns for hours on 
  47.    Nickelodeon. Call me fickle.
