  24. From Oct 31 to Nov 7 I was driving from Boston to Petaluma California
  25. with my brother.  The first night we made it to Erie PA.  We randomly
  26. headed out into downtown Erie in search of a place to play pool and
  27. accidentally bumped into the LMBA (LakeShore Marching Band Assoc) 
  28. Championships.  The Storm Drum and Bugle corps from Erie PA and
  29. Dutch Boy both had recruiting booths set up.  I talked a little
  30. to the guys from Storm (the guys at the Dutch Boy booth seemed VERY
  31. annoying).  93 was to be the first year out and they were very excited.

  33. After hearing (on alt.drumcorps) about Central High, McDowell, and
  34. General McLane, I was pretty anxious to see them.  (the only reason 
  35. we put up with the freezing cold... we were dressed for a pool hall, 
  36. not a band show.)

  38. I was a little underwhelmed.  McDowell had a show that was pretty well
  39. designed (Robin Hood) and had some nice visual moments,  but I didn't 
  40. get much else from any of the bands.  Does anyone who has seen them 
  41. before know if this was an off year for Central?  Last year they were 
  42. BOA Grand National Champions class "A" according to the program book.

  44. I'm pretty unfarmiliar with BOA... how are the classes set up?
