- This butane kick has gotta go ! The primary effect is caused
- by anoxia - severe deprivation of oxygen. Anoxia causes
- brain damage and may cause sudden cardiac rhythm disorders
- even in very healthy people resulting in death. At least
- half a dozen kids have dropped dead just in my general news
- area over the past year because of butane.
-
- Light hydrocarbons have a slight anesthetic effect - that is
- they make you kinda dizzy. However, with gaseous hydrocarbons
- like butane, there is too much temptation to suck the pure
- fumes ... and that means no oxygen, or not much. If you know
- of anyone who gets their kicks this way - find them something
- else to do ... beer, reefer, whatever - but convince them to
- stop with the inhalants !
