- Interestingly, there is a thread on PROZAC in sci.med right now. This
- might be a good thing cross-post there. On a biochemical level it would
- probably not be difficult to guess the effects these two chemicals would
- have on each other. It depends on what PROZAC does. Is it an antagonist?
- Does it enhance/block reuptake or degradation of serotonin? For instance,
- mono-amine oxidase activity cleaves the NH2 group off of the end of the
- serotonin molecule, and replaces it with a double bonded oxygen (it also
- gets rid of a hydrogen), marking it for excretion.
- PROZAC could have numerous effects, some would cause a difference in LSD
- activity, others might not.
