- I'd agree with this, but I think that the way 9 was promoted has alot
- to do with how well it did. The measure had words which would prohibit
- "special rights" for the class of individuals described (not only
- homosexuals, but also child molesters and such), which would mean that
- there wouldn't be quotas for this class of people in the workplace, you
- would not have to let them in your church, club, etc.; and you could
- legally use that excuse to discriminate. The OCA really pushed their
- "special rights" thing, implying that unless we voted for measure 9,
- pedophiles would be demanding to teach children in the schools and the
- courts would require it. Pretty scary stuff.

- Further down the measure was where the really nasty stuff was - the
- state government would not be allowed to promote this class of
- people (whatever that might mean), and the schools would be
- _required_ to identify this class of people to children and teach
- them that they were perverse and unnatural. Sounds like the
- "racial theory" courses they had in Germany in the 1930's.
