-
- I thought it was a triumph of form over function, much like
- "Prospero's Books" though not as in-your-face. The use of the
- multi-layered techniques of someones face over a background over a
- foreground scene was interesting, the first 2 or 3 times. After that,
- the clever effects grew really tiresome and added nothing to the drawn
- out plot.
-
- The movie moved really slowly. The characters were a bit hollow,
- Keanu Reeves especially, and Winona's transformation from loving
- fiance' to the re-incarnated lover was completely unbelievable. The
- Kama Sutra/Arabian Nights scene was completely pointless. Anthony
- Hopkins did a funny, and smartass Von Helsing, which came across quite
- nicely, though.
-
- Was it supposed to be a horror or a love story? In my opinion it
- accomplished neither.
