  21. I have always been quite curious about this tale. Is there any basis for it
  22. whatsoever in fact, or just another urban legend? Anybody got a concrete,
  23. available reference on the subject?

  25. On the subject of lots of mothballed ships, I recall seeing in a doco in my
  26. very early youth a picture of some harbour on the US West Coast where about
  27. half of the WW2 USN is laid up (I think this is where Iowa and New Jersey
  28. were parked until reactivated). Anyone know where it is? Is this where
  29. one of the Dirty Harry films was shot--you know, the one with David Soul
  30. which ends with a shootout in and around what appear to be hulked CVLs?
