- I have always been quite curious about this tale. Is there any basis for it
- whatsoever in fact, or just another urban legend? Anybody got a concrete,

- On the subject of lots of mothballed ships, I recall seeing in a doco in my
- very early youth a picture of some harbour on the US West Coast where about
- half of the WW2 USN is laid up (I think this is where Iowa and New Jersey
- were parked until reactivated). Anyone know where it is? Is this where
- one of the Dirty Harry films was shot--you know, the one with David Soul
- which ends with a shootout in and around what appear to be hulked CVLs?
