  38. I lived in the ICC for four years and spent three of those years on the
  39. board of 
  40. directors.  I must admit that my position on the board probably gave me a
  41. greater level
  42. of accessibility to the staff than most members, but I have little
  43. sympathy for most 
  44. complaints that the "staff members are untouchables," because I know that
  45. most of them
  46. have never called a staff member, talked to a staff member, asked their
  47. house president
  48. about filing a grievance (during all my time in the ICC, not a single
  49. member-staff
  50. grievance was filed, tho the procedure existed).
